Titchmarshing About.

Recently, I started my own herb garden as I enjoying cooking so much, and I've now got vegetables on the go too. But to help me keep track of what's what, I made some little flags to pop in the soil... And the names were handstitched! [not my favourite thing in the world]

Sowed basil seeds Sat 23/4/11

I love this basil flag.

Mint was planted a couple of weeks ago and flourishing well.

nb. Caged up so the puppy and cats stop digging it up

I would be happy to make more for myself and other as it was quite a joy to make!

First off, I have had to terminate my internship at Mudpie due to personal reasons, which is a shame as it was a great company with nice atmosphere and was a three month placement which could have lead to a more permanent [paid] job.

On a more positive note, I made the following for a friend. She will be collecting this afternoon, and I hope she likes it- she is a mad campervan fan.

The backing fabric, zip and illustration

The [personalized] illustration.

Working on a few other bits, another commissioned cushion for a friend that is much more complex and hoping to have a few bits on etsy soon :)

Experiment for up and coming project.

Calshot beach 07/04/2011

Today I managed quite a few bits off my To Do list including some experiments. One of which I managed to do whilst also completing something else off my list. I have had some blue spotty fabric which I wanted to make into a cushion for ages, and decided this week that I was going to have an experiment on the reverse side of the cushion.
I used to use female body images from female trashy magazines to practice illustration skills with my sewing machine, but with a recent bulk of old fabric samples, I decided to use the vintage illustration on the packets instead. I played it fairly safe with my first image as it was on a cushion but hopefully will be experimenting more vividly in the future.

Many more cushions to come in the future for commissions. Hurrah.

Quick experiment which is in relation to the new cushion commission. Thought it was quite interesting to show people. It is only a couple of inches big [hence the folds in the fabric] but I thought it was quite a successful experiment.
