Female Pioneers

From Suffragettes to Style Icons, 10 of the best female Pioneers, collabortated by Rosie Boycott at The Guardian. I find myself shocked that I have not heard of a few of the women mentioned, such as Wangari Maathai, the first African woman to receive the Nobel Prize (for her contribution to sustainable development, democracy and peace) as well as Marie Carmichael Stopes and Rachel Louise Carson! I feel ashamed not to know all these women who have all lived and changed the world in the last two centuries. Take a read over at The Guardian.

Emmeline Pankhurst; Suffragette who began the 'Deeds not Words' militant campaign.

Elizabeth Garrett Anderson; The first female doctor in the UK, after training in Paris.
